Optimierung Domplatz

Gerade ein Wifi Analyzer geschossen, mal sehen ob uns das weiterbringt.

Ja, ich überlege ob es sinvoll ist, die coverage auf dem Domplatz zu messen und dann auf eine Karte zu mappen (wobei die Werte dann natürlich (End-)Geräte spezifisch sind. Um darauf aufbauend eine Entscheidung zu treffen.

Meinst du so ein spectrum analyzer? Das haben eigentlich alle Ubiquiti Geräte eingebaut. Die Dinger sind sonst echt teuer (Ich hatte mal mit einem Teil fürs iPhone geliebäugelt, bin aber leider Student :confused: )

Jo, sehe ich auch so. Zumal auf der Frequenz echt niemand anderes sendet. Mache ich gleich.

PS: Zu der ganzen Geschichte könnte doch der @Manu_2o16 Ideen haben, oder?

Nachtrag: Auf der Hawerkamp ↔ BezReg Strecke konnte ich einen höheren Durchsatz erreichen, wenn ich den Wert bei „Data Rate Module“ von Default auf Alternative gestellt habe. Leider konnte ich nicht in Erfahrung bringen, was dieses „Alternative“ eigentlich anders macht.

Das ist zwar veraltete Hardware aber da die kein AC kann mittlerweile zu Preisen erhältlich bei denen man nicht direkt die Tränen in den Augen hat. :wink:

Ich habe mir das Soll mal (theortisch angesehen).
Beim 2.4 Ghz Stock Firmware müsste “b/g/n mixed” noch auf N gestellt werden. (finde ich)

Zumindest auf g/n. Geht aber nicht, der schalter ist fixed. Man muss manuell die entsprechenden datatates setzen (geht über webgui eher nicht so). Habe mich gestern schonmal ein bisschen über konsole umgeschaut aber muss mir da nochmal ne dokumentation raussuchen

Wir sollten mal schauen, inwieweit wir dort Band Steering hinbekommen. Da 2.4 GHz und 5 GHz aus verschiedenen Kisten fallen, müssten wir da aber einen Controller verwenden. Der UniFi Controller kann das wohl, aber auch mit unserer Hardware?

Außerdem möchte ich auf das Video verweisen, dass @paulinsche hier erwähnt:

Da die Modulation ja nicht mit dransteht kann ich das nichtmal sagen.
Gibt es da noch anderen Output? Was hast du geändert?

Der Unify Controller kann kein Band Steering, das machen die Dual Band Unifys.

Was wir aber einregeln können ist maximale Reichweite, das macht man IMHO über

  • Modulationsverfahren des Beacons.
    Geräte die die Geschwindigkeit nicht mitgehen können können sich nicht verbinden.
  • Sendeleistung

Ups, dann habe ich das wohl falsch verstanden.

MCS enthält 802.11b nicht IMHO, das ist ein 802.11n Mechanismus.

Zumindest bei OpenWrt muss man “einfach” die entsprechenden Speeds entfernen.

802.11b das man nicht will:
• 1 Mbps
• 2 Mbps
• 5.5 Mbps
• 11 Mbps

Ich bin gerade da (ist gerade Markt) und mal bin etwas rumgelaufen. Wenn man ne Verbindung bekommt dann ist das Netz IMHO gerade völlig in Ordnung, immer >5Mbit manchmal mehr als 10. ~130 eingeloggte Clients.

Coverage scheint ohne systematische Messung auch gut zu sein.
Wo man übrigens kein Empfang hat ist in der NO Ecke bei der Erbsensuppe :frowning:

Sitze jetzt im Marktcafe und arbeite über Freifunk - kein Problem :slight_smile:

Weißt du, zu welchen APs zu verbunden warst?

Nicht wirklich, ich habe ja immer noch keine Messgeräte und die Apps für die Mobiltelefone sind durch die Bank Murks.

Der „Wifi Analyser“ https://play.google.com/store/search?q=pname:com.farproc.wifi.analyzer zeigt die MAC des aktuell verbundenen APs.
